Global variables is a tool that enables the use of data on the size of a given segment in communication with leads and customers.
By adding such a variable, it will be possible to automatically create a message such as: Tickets for this flights have already been booked by X people or X people have already participated in the promotion. Remember that you only have time until the end of the month!
Defining a global variable
If you want to define a global variable, navigate to System, select Dictionaries from the menu on the left, and then select Global variables.
After clicking the Add button on the right, the system will open a new view where you can configure the variable by specifying its Name, adding an API key and assigning a value. An important thing to keep in mind is that in the Type field you should select Numeric value from the drop-down list. After filling out all the fields, click the Save button.
Assigning a global variable
To assign a global variable navigate to the Segmentation, and select Ready to use from the menu on the left.
You will see all the active segments. Click the Add action button next to a segment, and the system will provide you with the option of selecting actions on a given segment. To assign a global variable, use the Assign a count to a variable button.
From the drop-down list, select the appropriate Global variable. You have the option of enabling the Refresh global variable option. This will cause the variable to always refresh with the segment.
Note: Assigning a global variable to a segment is only possible if the variable type is a numeric value.
You can also use a global variable in your e-mail communication. Such a variable can be used for the content of an email sent as part of a properly prepared marketing scenario.
