The File Browser

The File browser is a module allowing you to upload and manage files used with other iPresso features, such as emails creations and popups. This is an ideal place for all kinds of creations assets, such as images.

It can be found under the path Start > Content > Files. 

 

File browser - how to get started?

At the very top of the browser, you will find an action bar. You can use it to create a new directory and add files, as well as move or delete files and/or directories after selecting them. 

Below them, you will find a yellow information bar relating to the stored files. Familiarize yourself with it, as it contains important and useful notes. You can close it with the on the right. To display it again, click .

Below you can find our search engine. It will help you to find necessary files. Click the icon to expand the filter list. You can select the following filtering elements for your search:

• the file types drop-down list,
• file extensions,
• slider indicating the search space. Remember that in order to search in the entire file browser database, the slider must first be used. Without this, the browser will search for files in the folder you are currently in.

To enable the search click search. To clear the search box, click reset.

The space available in the file browser is divided into columns:

• name;
• size;
• author - the person who last modified either a file or directory;
• created;
• last modified.

Only files and directories uploaded/added after the new version of the file browser release will have the created and the last modified dates. By clicking on the fields containing the arrow icon next to them, you can arrange the list by ascending or descending.

A single click on a directory and/or file will select it. Double-click on a directory will open it; double-click on a file will download it to the device you use. Additionally, you can use keyboard shortcuts to select several or all items. The control key (Windows) or ⌘ (macOS) and single-click on consecutive items will add them to the selection. The shift key will select all items from the previously selected one to the indicated one. 

Once entering further directories, an access path will be displayed under the search bar. It indicates the place in browser where you are currently located. Clicking the symbol will list the previous directories in the access tree, and will move you back to the main browser panel.

On the right side of the browser you will find an icon. This is an additional menu that allows you to perform actions on directories:

• rename;
• move;
• remove;

 or on files:

• download;
• replace - the new file must have the same extension and the same or lesser weight. It will also be automatically used in creations where the previous file was located. The link will remain the same. Remember that the exchange cannot be undone to restore the previous file;
• move;
• remove.

In case of files, you will also find an additional icon. This can be used to share the location of the file via a link:

 

Trash

Under the Files tab, you can also find another "submodule" - the Trash.  It contains items that have been previously deleted. After 30 days of being moved to the Trash the item will be permanently deleted. 

Selection, filtering, and column construction and functionality work the same as in case of the browser, but you'll find a different icon on the right - . You can use it to restore items from the trash to their previous location in the iPresso panel.

Note that it is not possible to use files located in the trash with creations or to share them, as they are not publicly available.

 

Uploading files into the browser

The browser allows you to upload files one by one or in batches, but not to upload directories. They will be uploaded individually, so interrupting the operation in any way will not result in none being uploaded. The names of the uploaded files will remain unchanged.
