In iPresso Studio, you can create an attractive e-mail campaign and send personalized communication to the exact segment from your Contact Manager’s base in quick three steps (Settings, Recipients, Content).
If you want to create a new campaign go to the sections Campaigns > +Create new campaign > and as a communication channel choose E-mail.
Settings
In the first step, you need to configure your e-mail campaign in the Settings section.
- set-up a Campaign name, which is visible only to the iPresso users
- choose appropriate marketing Consent based on which you will send your message. The campaign will be sent only to contacts with the selected consent
- if you want to use your e-mail creation in Marketing Automation scenarios, you need to choose Campaign type → For Scenarios. After editing your e-mail campaign, it will be automatically saved in the Campaign section → For scenarios. Using this option let you skip the configuration of recipients, as they are based on the criteria which you will choose while creating a given Marketing Automation scenario
- we recommend assigning an appropriate Tag to the created e-mail campaign, thanks to which you can mark your campaign in the system. This will make it easier for you to find it, e.g. in the statistics. Remember that campaign tags aren't restrictive to your audience. They are used only for reporting purposes, e.g. for classifying emails regarding the KPI Dashboard; OR and CTR reports.
- in the E-mail type section, you can define what kind of communication are you sending. You can choose between marketing or transactional e-mail. Marketing type e-mail needs the unsubscribe link, which is often placed in the footer of your e-mail creation
- in the next step, you will create a Subject line for your campaign, which is a key factor that decides if your customers will open this e-mail
- Subject line and Recipient’s name fields (“To.” field) allow you to personalize them by using attributes, e. g. first name or last name. A personalized subject of your e-mail will surely catch the attention of your recipients while setting a personalized field Recipient's name reduces the risk of the e-mail being sent to spam. Typing "{firstName} {lastName}" will make that recipient see, e. g. "John Smith" instead of "john.smith@mail.com" in the "To:'' field
- using the A/B test creates an opportunity to choose different versions of your e-mail creation for a group of customers and then send the best version to other recipients. It is a very useful function if you wish to check the conversion of the messages you send
- If you want to receive an e-mail reply to be directed to another e-mail address than the sender's address, simply provide the appropriate e-mail address in the field Reply-to email address
- you also have the ability for adding UTM parameters to each link in your e-mail campaign.
Recipients
In this step, you will choose a segment of your contacts to which you will send an e-mail campaign.
As your campaign recipients you can choose as follows:
- all contacts
- chosen segment, which allows you to define a group of contacts, based on the criteria you have chosen.
Once you create a segment, you have three options to choose from:
- create a new segment: this option allows you to create a new segment based on the contact information stored in the iPresso system. If you want to learn more about segments, click here.
- create new segment based on the selected one: this option allows you to create a new segment, by editing a familiar segment that you have used in the previous campaign. If you decide to edit some criteria - the segment will be refreshed (new contacts will appear inside).
- select segment from the archive: this option allows you to choose the segment which you have created before and to use the same segment as many times as you wish. However, in this case, you are not allowed to edit the segment’s criterion. After creating this segment, the system will check the criterion once again and add new contacts to the refreshed segment (if criteria are met).
Remember, that the number of your e-mail recipients may be less than the number of contacts in the segment, for the below reasons:
- doesn’t have selected consent
- have an invalid e-mail address or phone number (depending on the communication channel)
- you don’t have relevant access.
Content
The last thing to do is to edit the template and content of your campaign.
You need to choose a Template, which will be used in your campaign. For your disposal are:
- Drag & Drop Editor where you drag blocks to the editing screen, and which offers predefined Schemas or Themes templates. This is a very user-friendly functionality that lets you create a beautiful design of your e-mail in just a couple of minutes!
- Simple editor - Visual Editor (WYSIWYG), working on the principle of what you see is what you get (the e-mail creation will be identical or similar to what is displayed on the editor screen).
- Own HTML code (HTML code editor), in which you can use the Empty template to paste your HTML code or upload a previously prepared mailing via Import from a ZIP package.
- Also, you can use your previous e-mail templates saved by you or your teammates. You can find it in the upright corner of your screen. (Saved Templates)
It is worth using the view option, thanks to which you can keep track of changes taking place in the e-mail creation and control the responsiveness of your creation on various devices.
You can save the prepared mailing to the system memory at any time by clicking the blue Save as template button. This is especially convenient when composing messages for regular mailings, such as newsletters, where the layout and appearance of individual elements don’t change.
We recommend you to use the Send test e-mail function to verify the correctness of the e-mail creation you have created.
Remember: If you want to send a test e-mail, you should have your test contact created in iPresso Contact Manager.
Summary
The last section in campaign creation is the Summary. Here you will find out which elements of your e-mail campaign still need configuration (marked red colour) and these configured properly (marked green). You can also see elements marked in the yellow colour, but these elements are not obligatory to send your campaign.
By clicking Edit you’re automatically moved to a section of your e-mail campaign which you need to reconfigure.
Remember, that only elements marked in the green or yellow colour let you send an e-mail to your audience.
In the summary, you can also schedule a campaign. Selecting the button to send now will result in an immediate campaign to the group of your defined recipients.
