Reports
On iPresso, you can check completed campaigns at any time, as well as view the individual reports generated for them. To see completed campaigns, go to the "Campaigns" section and click on the "Sent" tab at the top.
On the right side of each campaign, you’ll see a 'reports' button. By clicking on it, you’ll be directed to the individual report for that campaign, where you can find information on conversions, clicks on links, and statuses of the campaigns.
The following steps will cover the various sections of the reports and the information presented in each of them.
Individual email campaign reports are divided into the following sections:
- Conversions
- Conversion Aggregated
- Open Hours
- Links clicks
- Status
Conversions
The “Conversions” section of the individual report presents only unique data. This is crucial for analyzing a specific campaign. The data is shown both in percentage and quantitative terms. Due to the uniqueness of the data in this part of the report, we can easily extract information on metrics such as Open Rate and Click Through Rate (CTR). iPresso also offers dedicated reporting functionalities for Open Rate (OR) and CTR, which you can read about here. Additionally, the data from the report can be utilized in various presentations thanks to the option to export it, for example, to JPEG format.
The data presented in the "Conversions" section, shown on the individual bars, provides information about:
- The total number of sent emails, represented on the chart by bars labeled "All" and "Sent".
- Information on emails delivered to the recipient’s inbox, marked on the chart as "Confirmed Delivery." This indicates that the server has received the email and delivered it to the recipient.
- The number of opened emails ("Opened"), which also serves as the Open Rate metric, due to the uniqueness of the data in the context of the entire campaign.
The number of unique clicks on links, labeled as "Links clicked" represents the total unique clicks on links by recipients. This means that even if the same recipient clicks on a link more than once, the system will only count it once in these sections:
- The quantity of "Unsubscribes" that occurred after receiving the email.
- Campaign delivery cancellation (“Cancelled”), which may be due to events such as: email sending limit on the iPresso account, incorrect email addresses, contact policy restrictions (sending limits), or manual cancellation of the campaign done by an iPresso user.
Conversion Aggregated
The next section in the individual report is “Conversion Aggregated.” The data contained in this part is also unique but it analyzes each and every day.
To practically illustrate the uniqueness of the data, consider an example: a user who clicks on a link → a unique contact on a specific day, such as 2021-03-29, clicks the link 5 times. This will be recorded as a single unique click. On the following day, for example, 2021-03-30, the same recipient repeats this action and clicks the link 5 times again → this will also be recorded as one unique click for that day. In summary, regardless of the number of times a client clicks on the link in a given day, it will always be recorded as a single unique activity.
We can choose different periods for displaying data on the chart (day, week, month, quarter, year) using the “Period” field, and also select the specific date range using the “Date from” and “Date to” fields.
There is also an option to decide which specific data bars will be displayed on the chart. Simply select the relevant bars by clicking on the legend, as shown below:
This way, only the data related to clicked links and opened emails will be presented. Additionally, by clicking the blue “Export” button, we can export the displayed data to a CSV file.
Open Hours
The next section of the report for the completed email campaign is "Open Hours."
The data regarding email opens is presented through a very clear chart that shows the exact number of emails opened at each hour. With this information, you can optimize your campaigns by scheduling your emails at times when your customers are most likely to read them.
Similar to the “Conversions” section, the chart can be saved as an image, which you can use, for example, in presentations. To export the chart, click on the icon with three bars located at the top of the chart, just to the right side:
Link clicks
The next very important section, in the context of analyzing the effectiveness of our email campaign, is “Link Clicks.”
In the “Link Clicks” tab, we receive data for all the links included in the email, as well as the total number of non-unique clicks. This means that if a recipient clicks on the same link 5 times, it will be counted five times toward the click count for that link.
If a larger number of links were used in the email campaign, this is the place where we can review them.
It’s important to remember that this tab collects all clicks on links that were actually clicked by the recipients. With this information, we can see which links were the most popular among our target group.
Additionally, by clicking the red “Contacts” button located on the right side of the screen, we can access the iPresso Contact Manager, where we can view detailed information about the individuals who clicked on specific links.
Status
The final element of the campaign report is the “Status” section. Here, we can review individual recipients of our emails and check details such as:
- the email address to which the message was sent,
- the date the message was sent,
- the date the message was opened,
- the status, like confirmed delivery, or unsubscribed.
The iPresso system allows you to filter recipients by specific status. The filtering options are available for the following statuses:
- All,
- Wait to be sent – if the email is scheduled for later, e.g., tomorrow at 8:15 AM,
- Delivery confirmed – indicates that the mail server confirmed receipt of the message,
- Sending canceled – due to reasons such as: reaching the email sending limit on the iPresso account, incorrect email address, contact policy, or manual cancellation by the iPresso user,
- Sending failed – applies to emails where the mail server responded with a hard bounce (e.g., due to a non-existent email address). In such cases, iPresso flags these addresses as "Invalid email address," preventing further emails from being sent to these contacts.
- Opened - this means receiving a confirmation that the message has been opened by the contact,
- Sent - the message has left the mail servers, and the status is issued before confirmation of receipt, opening, and clicking. In the case of an incorrect address, this status will not be set – it should be preceded by a hard bounce,
- Unsubscribed - information that the contact has unsubscribed using the unsubscribe link.
Additionally, by clicking the blue “GO TO CONTACT MANAGER” button, you can view recipients with a specific sending status and create a segment with those recipients. This segment can then be used for future email marketing campaigns.
