New to iPresso? No worries, this article will guide you through the initial setup.
What to do after gaining access to iPresso?
You've already created an account and logged into iPresso. You can set the system language - Polish or English. In the top right corner, click the gear icon and configure the system according to your preferences:
Now it's time to specify who else should have access to the system. Go to the System > System Accesses> Users and add the users who should have access to iPresso.
Remember that you can set permission levels, which will be defined in the User Groups tab. Click ADD in the top right corner:
Below, select the sections of the system that you want to grant access to for your newly created group:
Monitoring code
To start working in iPresso, adding the monitored sites is essential. The code allows us to, for example, track user activity on the site or display notifications and pop-ups.
To add a website to the monitored list, go to the System tab > Monitoring > Site monitoring and click ADD in the top right corner:
Enter your website's address and domain:
After clicking “Save and generate tracking code”, code will appear. Copy it and add it to your website. If you’re not sure how to do this, contact your website administrator.
Remember that for each subdomain, you should define a separate tracking code. For example, if you want to monitor activity on the site https://shop.my-site3.com, you need to add a separate code for it.
Service worker
The service worker file allows you to collect tokens and display notifications on your site. To configure it, follow the path below and follow the instructions. Go to the System-> Channels Settings->Web push setting. After adding the file to your website's server, click enable in the bottom right corner:
Custom sender names
It's important to set custom sender names for emails and SMS messages—this affects your brand image and can also influence deliverability for emails.
If you plan to send transactional emails (e.g., confirmation of an agreement) and marketing emails, it's a good idea to configure separate domains for both types. You can purchase domains from various external services that also offer hosting.
Once you have selected and bought your domains, let us know.
You can do this through iPresso. Go to Start -> System -> Channels Settings -> E-mail Senders, click ADD, and then start the process of adding a new domain.
In the next step, provide the domain you want to add. For two domains, submit two separate requests:
You can also submit a request to add a domain via Jira - similar to other requests.
After your submission, we will send you an Excel file with the necessary data to configure the domain. This needs to be done with your domain provider. An example of the data to be entered:
After entering the data with your domain provider, get back to us with a confirmation. We will authorize the domain, check the correctness of the entries, and inform you that the domain is ready for use.
This is a good time to define the sender name for the domain/domains, which is the part before the @ symbol.
You can do this in iPresso by going to the System > Channels Settings > Email Senders tab.
For SMS, the process is much simpler. Go to the System > Channels Settings > SMS Senders tab and add your sender name.
Attributes, Consents, Contact Import
It's time to add your contacts. First, it's worth considering whether the default attributes of the contacts will meet your needs, or if you need more of them.
Name |
Last name |
Common name |
e-mail address |
Landline phone number |
Mobile phone number |
Company name |
City |
Zip code |
Street name |
Building number |
Apartment number |
Country |
Voivodeship |
You can of course edit the attributes later, but it's worth doing it before the first import of contacts. Check what data you have in your database or what you plan to collect – based on that, make a decision. You can find the instructions for adding attributes here.
If you have any doubts, feel free to contact us – we will definitely offer some advice.
A special attribute is the consent granted by the user. In iPresso, these are categorized separately to manage them better. Since managing data and consents is subject to legal requirements, it’s worth considering what consents you already have in your database and whether to replicate your database or perhaps redefine your approach when importing your database into iPresso. Remember that you are the administrator of personal data and bear responsibility for situations where, for example, you sent an email to a user without their consent.
Go to the System > Consent Manager > Consents tab, where you can add/remove/edit consents and their content.
After establishing the consents and their content, you can proceed to the contact import, where you will be able to assign the specific consent(s) to the contacts. You can assign consents later using segmentation, but no later than before the first sending.
You can populate the contact database in three ways:
- manual addition of contacts,
- import,
- sending via API.
If you don’t have your own database, you can certainly create one from scratch in iPresso, for example, by launching a form. Keep in mind that creating such a database will take some time.
You can find the detailed instructions for importing contacts here.
Campaigns
Congratulations – you’ve reached the point where you can execute your first sending!
To get started, go to the Channels -> campaigns section and select the communication channel Email.
Set the parameters, define the recipients, upload or create the content – you can now send communications.
